What You’ll Do:

Responsible for the planning and directing all aspects of the division’s operational policies, objectives, processes, and initiatives as it relates to load planning and customer service. Monitors weekly report cards and works on corrective actions.  Ensures that phones are answered in prescribed time frames.

·         Evaluates job performance and is involved in the salary planning, performance management / corrective action plans and continued education and training. Responsible for keeping all subordinates informed of changing policies and procedures and the assurance that they are carried out.

·         Develops and analyzes statistical information to find weaknesses within the operations network and correct the issues.

·         Evaluates planners and exception coordinators to identify weaknesses and challenges.  Works with exception coordinators and planners to assure internal and external compliance with company policies and procedures.

·         Provides oversight and administration of operational program development; Recommends changes on both a national and local level.

·         Analyzes statistical data to monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and annual performance goals relating to on-time service, communication, deadhead, and purchased transportation.

·         Provides consultative support to managers on diverse issues including pay issues, interpretation of company policies and procedures, communication of regulations, and developing relationships.

·         Complete performance appraisals for exception coordinators and exception planners.

·         Assist in the design of operational programs; assist in long-term planning strategy.

·         Oversees the extended hour’s operations staff on all shifts for Xpress Direct.
