Operations Manager (OPCO) - Liquid Inks
Minimum requirements for the role:
A tertiary qualification in production, technical or chemical related discipline is preferred for the role but is not essential. Previous experience having worked in a production or operational management role within the liquid inks industry is essential. The successful candidate must have solvent based liquid inks experience. Must have worked within a highly inflammable environment. The successful candidate must have strong leadership and management skills and strong problem-solving skills. Must have a high level of integrity and ethical standards. Must be able to work to a deadline. Must have strong analytical and computer skills. Must have excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbal and written. Must be familiar with all raw materials used in the manufacturing of liquid inks. Must be able to implement processes and procedures. Must have extensive understanding of On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) manufacturing. Supply chain experience would be an added advantage. Must be conversant with sales and operational planning processes. Previous experience handling a unionised work force is an added advantage. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Managing and overseeing all the operational and production aspects for these liquid inks manufacturing company.  Managing, overseeing, directing and driving staff to ensure that production efficiencies quality and quantity specifications ensuring that production KPIs are met. Managing and overseeing production scheduling and planning, to run a safe and efficient production area.  Managing and driving Standard Operating Procedures and practices (SOPs) to ensure efficient use of time and resources. Overseeing raw material requirements for production. Managing and ensuring that the production and technical managers produce finished product and packaging of the highest order. Handling and driving all operational functions in the company to ensure business growth through streamlined processes. Improving brand recognition in the market and creating a cost effective, efficient and reliable operational process that meets worldwide standards. Overseeing and driving maintaining best production and manufacturing practices. Managing and overseeing that systems comply with legislative requirements, ensuring that staff adhere to safety regulations. Ensuring that risk assessment are identified and removed. Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
