About the role

Reporting to the Facility / Plant Manager, the Operations Manager oversees the Power Plant’s operational responsibilities and requirements, leading a team of direct and indirect reports. The Operations Manager role provides many opportunities to learn, develop and grow your profession at various plants throughout the enterprise.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities include but at not limited to:

Delivers superior environmental, health, and safety leadership to ensure no accidents, no harm to people, and no damage to the environment.  Ensures compliance to all permit requirementsProvide leadership and coaching to effectively manage personnel to execute tasks required to deliver against the business objectives for the operationProvide guidance and over-site to keep boiler and turbine performance at maximum levelsEffectively organize work and projects with other departments and ensure proper and efficient daily work of all operations personnel.Administer and supervise studies to improve plant operations and equipment operations, and monitor the effectiveness of plant manuals and procedures, instituting changes or additions, as requiredProvide assurance of compliance to procedures through auditingEnsure the plant’s readiness to meet unusual situations and safe, efficient day-to-day operations.Proficiently inspect boilers and machinery to meet plant performance targets. Manage, track, and implement established technical training programs, as required, and develop new training, as needed.Oversee and/or compile and present various technical reports.Responsible for the cleanliness and appearance of the operations areas to maintain a safe working environment

Working Conditions:

24x7, 12-hr rotating shiftsIndustrial, plant environmentOvertime, as needed

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Engineering.  Plant operations supervisory/managerial experience will be accepted in lieu of degree.Experience to include power plant operations, or high-pressure boiler experience with a sound understanding of power plant operations Materials processing experience (conveyors, cranes, hoppers, etc.)The ASME, QRO/CFO Certification is desirable, or must be able to qualify for this certification (or any other required certification) within six months of employment.

​Preferred Qualifications:

10 or more years of experience in a supervisory or managerial level role in an industrial or power generating facilityExperience in a specialty chemical plant, environment with significant material handling, or coal fired power plant is highly preferredMaintenance experience with outages, rotating and electrical generation equipment (turbine, generator, etc.)

Experience in or knowledge of one of more these:

Electrical and controls systemsAir compressorsCondensate pumpsCooling water systemsUnderstanding of solid fuel combustion practices and materials handling processesContinuous ImprovementSafety and Incident Management

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The expected salary range for this position is $128,133 – 169,843. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive plan, subject to meeting the requirements of the plan and dependent on company and individual performance.  

This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The final salary figure will take into account a variety of factors including experience, ability and location. Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and these ranges should not be considered career salary limits or caps.
