Description for Network Service Division Operations Manager
Seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to support Department of Defense (DoD) elements in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating processes within the Network Service Division and assisting Headquarters in overseeing the daily operations of IT Service Centers. This role ensures that systems and infrastructure operate efficiently and effectively.
Key responsibilities include managing the team responsible for system maintenance and ensuring the timely and efficient execution of maintenance activities. The candidate will also collaborate with service centers to create JIRA tickets for tracking projects and task-related actions. Additionally, the Operations Manager will assist government leadership in identifying risks and issues associated with project tasks and determining appropriate mitigation actions.
The ideal candidate must be an initiative-taking self-starter, capable of identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency. This role involves coordinating various projects, fostering teamwork, and implementing best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Performance Areas: \n\nProject Coordination:\n\nPlan, execute, and oversee network service projects from inception to completion.\nEnsure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.\nManage project resources, timelines, and deliverables effectively.\n\n\nTeamwork and Collaboration Skills:\n\nFoster a collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and open communication.\nLead and mentor team members, promoting a culture of shared success and professional growth.\nCoordinate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of network services.\n\n\nLifecycle Planning:\n\nDevelop and implement comprehensive lifecycle plans for network services, including tracking the design, deployment, operation, and decommissioning.\nMonitor and review lifecycle stages to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with organizational goals.\nManage risks and issues throughout the lifecycle to minimize disruptions and maintain service quality.\n\n\nOperational Management:\n\nOversee the daily operations of the Network Service Division, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality services.\nEstablish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational success and identify areas for improvement.\nEnsure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.\n\n\n\n
Required skills and qualifications:\n
Operations Manager (Network Services)\n
6 years experience in IT Operations Management or Project Management\n
- Demonstrated ability for oral and written communication with the highest levels of management\n
; - Demonstrated excellence in planning, directing, and managing Infrastructure Support Services IT projects\/operations\n
- Demonstrated successful working knowledge and supervision of employees\n
- Knowledge of industry-accepted standards and best practices related to 24x7 operations environment;\n
- Knowledge of DoD network and system security requirements;\n
- Knowledge of and experience with 24x7 help desk support and operation;\n
- Knowledge of service level agreement, service monitoring, metrics, and standard of operations procedures;\n
- Demonstrated experience in a DoD IT environment;\n
- Experience managing performance-based contract
- Demonstrated experience with the ITIL framework (currently v3); - Must have Security + Certification - Top Secret\/SCI Required
- Jira and Confluence -Experience in creating and organizing JIRA IT tickets logically for ease of reporting to Government\n
leadership.\n
Bachelor's Degree or higher\n
Desired Skills:\n\nAdvanced JIRA and Confluence experience\nMasters Degree preferred\n\n
