Under general supervision, serves as the liaison between Operations, Training, Region Administration and Human Resources.
Directly Supervises a team comprised of various discplines including pre-service and in-service training staff both in the office and in the field, providing ongoing oversight and feedback. Handles all personnel and disciplinary action related ot these employees.
Reviews Florida Statutes, DCF Operational Procedures, Administration policies and related directives for impact on Child Protection. Evaluates impact on operations; identifies potential problems; recommends appropriate action. Develops and recommends planning strategies to enhance and increase field performance and quality. Provides advice and assistance to the Child Protection Supervisors Program Administrators in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of existing operations, systems, and procedures
Provides assistance to Program Administrators and their staff in the management and operation of Child Protection. Performs firsthand, on-site analysis of operational problems of the Child Protection program; serves on interdisciplinary staff teams to develop optimum resolutions; carries out the implementation of solutions. Acts in an administrative and consultative capacity providing operational and management coordination on the service center, Region, Circuit and agency level
Participates in and facilitates round-table discussion in coordination with regional operations managers to gather information from frontline staff to be used in creating solutions to identified issues and concerns
Responsible for tracking and reporting of CPI certification materials with the Florida Certification Board for assigned areas.
Participate and attend statewide meetings and events related to various training initiaves
Manages Retention and Development coordinators to ensure completion of exit interviews, service center retention efforts, and compiles results to identify and track trends related to turnover of CPI staff
Interacts with the Program Administrator to compile data from Investigations reviews. Identify performance issues requiring improvement and make recommendations to improve performance and enhance quality. Assist with the preparation of findings from QA reviews and complete written reports. Coordinate training to address areas where individual and/or unit performance improvement is required.
Work in partnership with Program Administrator and hiring authorities in Operations to ensure needs are being met and the hiring and selection of staff is timely and appropriate. Ensure capacity is conducive to optimal performance in Operations. Responsible for all Personnel & Hiring Issues related to CPI trainees prior to provisional CWCPI certification
Special Projects as requested by Operations and Family Safety Program Office.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
+ Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
+ 3-5 years relevant child welfare experience
+ Valid Driver’s License
+ Must possess operational private vehicle for use in the performance of daily work activities - Selected incumbent is required to provide proof of vehicle registration and documentation of the appropriate insurance coverage.
+ Current/active Child Welfare Certification
+ 50% -75% Travel
Knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position:
Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis. Knowledge of basic management principles and practices. Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices. Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials. Ability to conduct fact-finding research. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to work independently. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities. Ability to plan, organizes, and coordinates work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
