OPERATIONS PRODUCTION LEAD

The Production Advisor will focus on organizational leadership to implement and improve organizational capacity for Operational Excellence, lean, and continuous improvement culture on all McGough projects. They will provide leadership and support for the subject matter experts responsibly for directly developing and implementing lean systems, including LPS, production tracking, earned value management, and others. This role will also provide leadership to those individuals providing frontline coaching to teams implementing these systems. This role will also seek to continuously improve lean systems and culture through collaboration, innovation, technology, equipment, tools, and work methods.

Qualifications:

Required:

4-year bachelor’s degree in management, construction, engineering, business, or equivalent Has applied Last Planner System® for 4+ years on multiple projects Understand and applied PDCA, A3 thinking, process mapping, daily huddles, and standard work Can develop and implement metrics for daily work and production Experience using Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling Innovative thinker who challenges traditional practices, processes, and seeks to continuously improve Provide servant leadership by leading with humility and creativity Has trained and coached LPS content to project teams Establish trust and engage leaders & team members quickly

 Preferred:

LCI Lean Construction Professional Certification Expanded production system on projects past just Last Planner System® Experience applying Last Planner System® in the design phase of projects Facilitated groups through process mapping and process improvement events Participated in value stream mapping and analysis Worked in or with matrixed organizational structure

Office and Travel:

Office:    Primary location is McGough Corporate Headquarters Building or one of McGough’s regional offices

Travel:   Local, Regional and National offices and jobsites visits will be necessary, overnight travel will be required. Travel up to 50-60% of the time.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Contribute towards the company’s lean transformation strategy in partnership with leaders Help develop and coach leaders in the advancement of McGough’s processes, principles, and behaviors Build capability in our project delivery professionals to lead and sustain ongoing development and implementation of lean systems to assure that the processes are delivering and improving business results across all value indicators (safety, people, quality, schedule, cost) Redeploy Last Planner System® at McGough with a careful consideration to integrate into existing processes. Collaborate with scheduling process to bridge the gap between Last Planner System® and Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling Improve and deliver lean project delivery education and develop programs with the Operational Excellence team to build the culture and capabilities of project personnel Collaborate with others on the Operational Excellence team to shape and improve project delivery (huddles, standard work, processes, daily improvement, metrics, visuals, etc.) Help guide the development of processes, requirements, and guidelines for supply chain and production plans in terms of flow and pull Build the capability in McGough’s teams to conduct gemba walks and field observations to work together to analyze current state operations and to build capability to identify opportunities for improvement through structured problem solving Ensure proper application of integrated project planning and financial forecasting efforts for project teams Ensure updating of visuals and other project control systems to promote continuous improvement and the growth and development of our field operations team.

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employee’s work station and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
