The Adversary Intelligence Department (N926) has the mission to provide deep technical and regional analysis on emerging threats to the United States and its interests in support of USG policy, strategy, integrated capabilities, test & evaluation, and resource investments. Our vision is to enable national security policymakers to anticipate and prepare for future adversarial threats by revolutionizing intelligence analysis and capabilities, empowering them to see beyond the horizon and confidently navigate emerging national and global challenges. This Operations Research position, based in McLean, VA, will support our sponsor through research and data analysis related to future critical Intelligence Community (IC) needs in the space and ground domains. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

Evaluating proposed IC and DoD future overhead architecturesAbility to formulate and compute capability trade-offs and risks to missions in various scenariosConstructing and executing analysis plans for the responsibilities listed above, to include working within or leading small teamsWorking with senior government sponsors as either a lead or supporting analystApply operations research, statistics, and data analytics concepts and approaches to real world problemsPresent results in an intuitive, actionable manner that can be understood by all sponsor audiences, regardless of technical expertise

Basic Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI with CI PolygraphTypically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 7 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 4 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experienceFamiliarity with space-based ISR systems and capabilitiesPrevious experience working for OSD Cost Assessment & Program Evaluation (CAPE) as a government employee, military officer, or contractorDemonstrated knowledge of principles, concepts, methods, and tools for conducting operations research, statistical analysis, mathematical modeling, or data analytic studiesDemonstrated experience leading analytical efforts and yielding impactful results at high levels of government and/or industryDemonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets and present statistically valid results: orally, numerically, and graphicallyStrong critical thinking, analytic, and problem-solving skills – comfortable working in dynamic settings where task objectives may evolve or need to be shaped, or creative solutions to task impediments must be identifiedExcellent interpersonal and technical communication skills, with the ability to write technical reports, present briefings, and persuasively speak to audiences of all backgrounds, including executives or senior sponsorsThis position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)Advanced degree in in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Systems Engineering, or other data sciences
