Operations Security (OPSEC) Planner

COLSA is seeking an OPSEC Planner providing analytical and advisory support to the Marine Corps OPSEC Team (MOST).  Through knowledge of doctrine, policies, and processes, the OPSEC Planner will support application of technical guidelines, operational requirements, and evaluations to facilitate the Marine Corps OPSEC Team's mission.  This position will further support other OPSEC related functions as part of the mission of the Marine Corps Information Operations Center.  This position may require periodic travel and off-site support.   

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Participate in OPSEC assessments and surveys of Marine Corps CONUS and OCONUS Commands, and gather information, provide advice, opinion, recommendations, and other non-distortionary services to the development of subsequent findings and reports.
2)  Support in the development of a systems engineering approach to continue the development of the MOST and supporting processes.
3)  Facilitate coordination with Deputy Commandant, Plans, Policies and Operations in ensuring USMC Policy on OPSEC meets all DOD and Joint Staff levied requirements.
4)  Assist the Service Enterprise, from Supporting Establishment to Operating Forces, with adhering to USMC Policy on OPSEC.
5)  Support the Service's combat development institutions and processes to assist Government personnel develop OPSEC capability across the enterprise that addresses DOTMLPF gaps.
6)  Facilitate the coordination of the development of USMC OPSEC capability with DON, and all Joint and DOD levied requirements.
7)  Provide advice, opinions, recommendations and other non-discretionary services for Marine Corps OPSEC doctrine and policy enhancements.
8)  Support the development of analytical approaches to integrate OPSEC planning initiatives and efforts into military operations and evaluating/validating its implementation.
9)  Assist with coordinating OPSEC support from military and Governmental agencies, as needed, to include, but not limited to: the Interagency OPSEC Support Staff (IOSS), Joint Information Operations Warfare Center/Joint OPSEC Support Element (JOSE), Service Information Warfare Centers or OPSEC Support Elements, and the Joint Staff.
10)  Support the development of OPSEC-specific analytical reports to support vulnerability assessments and OPSEC programs.
11)  Support the development of trends and analysis reports concerning Marine Corps OPSEC posture and maintain currency in awareness of "OPSEC Best Practices" across the service and DOD.
12)  Support the development and submission of ad-hoc reports.
13)  Support the integration OPSEC into support of USMC MILDEC and SIGMAN initiatives.
