Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Management, Aviation Maintenance or related curriculum or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Master's Degree preferred. 6 years managerial experience with accountability and ownership of employee relations activities, including but not limited to; writing and delivering performance reviews, making hiring and termination recommendations, making compensation recommendations, driving employee development, etc. in a technically related role (i.e. aviation maintenance, general manufacturing). Master's Degree in related curriculummay offset 2 years of experience requirement. Position Purpose:Provides direction and strategic oversight to a manufacturing business unit to ensure that all aircraft and components are manufactured within FAA regulations, while meeting or exceeding company EHS, quality, financial and operational objectives. Manages operations managers and other assigned staff and interacts with internal and external customers to provide technical subject matter expertise. Executes and ensures compliance to company policies and procedures and constantly seeks process and performance improvements.Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions: Assigns production responsibilities, work plans and schedule requirements to dept managers to ensure all jobs are completed in a matter that satisfies FAA regulations. Develops strategic plans to ensure cost, productivity, quality objs/expectations and operational goals are met throughout the mfg business unit. . Develops and manages annual budgets and long range requirements and ensures established corporate financial controls are met. Works closely with Senior Leadership to understand and develop strategic goals and objs in order to plan for and prepare the MBU(s) to meet future requirements. Assists in the development and implementation of efficiency enhancing objectives and long-range organizational goals. Leads and champions complex projects working across multiple disciplines in order to meet organizational objs. Oversees initiatives and mfg strategy for the dept(s) encompassing Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement philosophies and concepts. . Coordinates with other senior managers, directors and corporate mgmt in engineering, operations, finance, etc. to ensure schedules and budgets are met and problems are resolved. . Develops, maintains, and meets or exceeds requirements for a safe work environment; ensures stringent housekeeping, 5S standards, Environmental Health & Safety requirements, and safety procedures and practices are followed; ensures tools/equipment meet safety requirements; leads trend and root cause analysis and accident investigations. Develops, reviews, and oversees implementation of facilities improvements for the purposes of process efficiencies, cellular mfg and lean mgmt. Troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes and equipment already in operation while minimizing cost and preventing delivery delays. . Identifies and mitigates potential problems and conflicts in the areas of cost/employee relations/quality/productivity. Enforces quality standards and monitors/provides corrective action for workmanship issues.Additional Functions: Serves as back-up to senior management/director. . Encourages innovation and ensures awareness of best practices. . Develops and maintains emergency action plans to ensure Business Continuity Plan is viable and executed in a timely, effective manner. .Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements: Must have demonstrated: leadership ability; business acumen; initiative; ability to work as a team player; ability to deliver results. Demonstrated knowledge of lean mfg. Proficient in using Excel and PowerPoint.
