The Returns Manager is responsible for leading operations to support check return and deposit exception processing. The Returns Manager leads a team of 13 Specialists in Cleveland and Albany. The Returns Manager reports to the Operations Director of Payment & Deposit Services.
Operational expertise to lead a team of operations professionals and/or has Managers as direct reports. Span of control and/or complexity of functions / products are increased requiring proven leadership, critical thinking, and collaboration to achieve successful business outcomes, including larger scale continuous improvement or technology driven projects. Builds strong relationships with internal and external partners or vendors to ensure service delivery excellence for Key’s clients. The position is responsible for a deep understanding of the operational subject matter and end-to-end process. Lead/manage financial performance that achieves financial commitments. Enforces a strong control environment including leading interactions with regulators/auditors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for processing of incoming and outgoing check return files. Also responsible for card, ACH, other return items, and exception reports.Responsible for the day-to-day activities of one or more operations functions/products while providing service excellence to achieve SLAs for internal partners and/or customers.Responsible for hiring diverse professionals; build and lead a high performing team, including mentoring and coaching. Able to support team members across multiple sites. Successfully lead change.Proactively understand risk and accountable for the design, implementation, and testing of controls to ensure compliance with government regulations and bank policies.Implements project or continuous improvement initiatives that tie to strategic objectives. May serve as a business leader to achieve outcomes.Execute human capital decisions and projects to achieve the financial goals of the division.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Established experience leading in operations; demonstrated ability to manage SLA, quality, and productivity, to deliver superior client serviceProven ability to lead projects and initiatives to successful completion; excellent organization skills including the proven ability to plan, schedule, coordinate, and implement initiativesProven ability to successfully manage multiple, complex assignments with competing deadlines; proven ability to prioritize commitments, assign tasks, and follow up on assignmentsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent critical thinking and analytical skillsEffective negotiation and problem-solving techniquesEffective risk management skillsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experienceAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Office toolsKnowledge of deposit operations and systemsNCP, AAP, or similar certificationsKey has implemented a role-based Mobile by Design approach to our employee workspaces, dedicating space to those whose roles require specific workspaces, while providing flexible options for roles which are less dependent on assigned workspaces and can be performed effectively in a mobile environment. As a result, this role may be mobile or home based, which means you may work either at a home office or in a Key facility to perform your job duties. Preferred location is Brooklyn, OH however Albany, NY is another possible location. The person selected for this position will work in office a minimum of two days per week.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $70,000.00 to $95,000.00 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
