Operations Specialist I - Retirement Plan Operations

What is the opportunity? 

As an Operations Specialist 1 in the Retirement Plan Operations team, perform daily oversight activities that validate department and systems processes in the Retirement Plan Operations Department.  They will provide analysis, processing, and customer services support for manual, exception-based complex and/or highly specialized Operations processes.  This individual will review, verify, and record data into technology systems supporting department processes while ensuring adherence to all regulatory and firm policy requirements.  In addition, this individual will research, resolve, or secure requested information for other Operations areas, RCB Business Units, external customers or industry participants.

What will you do?

Execute daily department oversight activities to validate system processes are executing as designed.  Run and analyze reports as required to resolve exceptions ensuring adherence to all regulatory and firm policy requirements. Provide detailed daily oversight and act as a backup for controls/WSP’s.Assist in department oversight to ensure adherence to department procedures, risks are mitigated, and regulatory requirements are metSupport escalated issues, time sensitive, complex, exception-based and/or highly specialized processesLiaise and provide customer service support for individuals requiring research, problem resolution, or securing information from other Operations departments, RBC Business Units, external customers or industry participants.  Address escalated questions independently, seeking assistance from Manager as appropriate following established department proceduresProvide backup when support is needed for high volumes for phone or salesforce cases as well as during absences for other specialists or associatesBe a resource for projects, participate in testing and implementation of new systems and processes impacting Retirement Plan OperationsEnsure manuals are accurate and updated as policies and procedures changePerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

4-year degree from an accredited university (or equivalent) OR High School diploma (or equivalent) AND 3 years for job-related experience2+ years prior securities, banking and/or job specific related experienceDemonstrated problem identification, analytical and resolution skills required to support escalated issue resolution and/or oversight requirements associated with exception based complex processesAbility to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced and deadline driven environment with high attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.  Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and managementProficient computer skills in Windows-based software products including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Nice-to-have

4-year degree from an accredited university in business, finance, or related field3+ years business, finance, customer service and/or accounting/bookkeeping experiencePrevious experience in the securities or banking industry preferred

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $45, 000 - $75,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
