Operations Specialist Midnight - 8:00am
Description We are partnering with a Chattanooga-based organization to staff multiple Logistics Coordinators to work 2nd and 3rd shifts through April 2025. This role primarily involves monitoring weather conditions to ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods. The position requires individuals who can understand the impact of meteorology on transportation operations and effectively communicate this to relevant personnel. Responsibilities: • Accurately monitor and interpret weather forecasts that could affect transportation routes and destinations. • Evaluate potential risks and impacts of adverse weather on transportation operations and make necessary adjustments. • Communicate weather-related information to drivers, dispatchers, and other relevant staff in a clear and concise manner. • Collaborate with drivers to modify routes or schedules as necessary to avoid hazardous weather conditions. • Provide support and guidance to drivers navigating through challenging weather conditions. • Maintain and update records of weather-related incidents and their impact on transportation operations. • Use MS Word and Internet for tracking and reporting purposes. • Provide excellent customer service by resolving customer inquiries efficiently. • Perform data entry tasks to maintain accurate customer credit records. • Process customer credit applications with detail and accuracy. Requirements • Must have at least one year of relevant experience in the transport industry • Proficient in MS Word and Internet usage • Strong customer service skills • Ability to perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently • Willingness to work in the 4pm to midnight shift • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to multitask and work under pressure • Knowledge of transport operations and regulations is a plus • High level of initiative and ability to work independently • Problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions when required • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification required.
