GFL Environmental is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Operations Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Coquitlam, BC!
The Job:
The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for developing a thorough understanding of the Company’s transportation requirements and patterns. They will review and process day-to-day operations, evaluate and recommend equipment needs, and plan and schedule appropriate service lines to maintain a cost-effective balance between customer service and the cost of service. They will ensure compliance with all government related programs specific to mode and direction of related haulage.

Oversee and optimize day-to-day operations, including transportation and service planning.Monitor and maintain cost-effective operations while prioritizing excellent customer service.Communicate and coordinate with dispatch, drivers, and other departments for efficient scheduling and service delivery.Conduct regular driver performance reviews and organize training to ensure safety and compliance.Investigate and manage accidents and incidents, ensuring timely reporting and resolution.Organize and approve driver vacation requests while balancing operational needs.Provide leadership and support to product line personnel, including recruitment and performance management.Requirements:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record2-3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in waste management or transportationFamiliarity with WHMIS, the Highway Traffic Act, and safety regulationsStrong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) for managing data and reports.Flexibility to work varied hours and travel as needed.Skills and Abilities:
Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.Proactive approach to promoting safety and preventing accidents.Skilled in investigating incidents and preparing required documentation.Capable of organizing safety meetings and routine route observationsAdvantages to working at GFL:
