POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading operations team of 8 technicians. Support a business unit team including skilled trade technicians, and engage in the Region-wide leadership team along with leaders from multiple Areas. Owensboro Area operates 3 crude oil pipelines, 4 products pipelines and are responsible for 475 miles of pipe associated with these systems in Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Ohio. Operations and maintenance includes the Owensboro tank farm, Lebanon Junction tank farm, 11 pumping stations and 10 delivery stations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the day-to-day field activities of company technicians and pipeline systems to ensure safe and efficient storage or movement of crude oil and light petroleum products.
Establishes a culture of safety, environmental, social, and governance excellence by modeling appropriate behaviors.
Interacts with pipeline, refining, and terminals scheduling to optimize downtimes for inspection, maintenance or projects. Ensures downtime schedules are accurate and effective. Manages unscheduled activities as required while minimizing downtime.
Shares on-call responsibilities with leadership team. Manages 24 x 7 operations requiring flexible work schedule, on-call responsibilities, and emergency response. Initiates initial response to emergencies such as accidents, spills, or injuries involving pipeline or contract personnel.
Supports MPL 6, Region, and Area Goals. Demonstrates ability to collaborate with diverse groups including corporate SMEs, terminals, refining, engineers, contractors, 3rd party pipeline operators, landowners, regulating agencies, and community stakeholders/first-responders.
Builds and maintains trust with internal stakeholders both in corporate and field
Monitors company time keeping systems to ensure accuracy and overtime hours are reasonable compared against work orders closed.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following, implementing and enforcing Company safety standards, practices and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Responsible for developing, training, coaching, and mentoring team members in support of a high performing organization.
Provide technical assistance to employees toward expedient problem resolution.
Meets operational standards by implementing productivity and quality field practices to ensure proficient utilization of work group and equipment.
Effective meeting facilitation while working to build consensus across multiple business units.
Leverages technology to pursue opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate must live within a 45-minute radius of the Owensboro, Kentucky facility.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
High school diploma or GED required.
3-5 years of pipeline, midstream, or engineering equivalent experience preferred.
Leadership skills that challenge and empower team members while building an inclusive and diverse culture.
Ability to interpret and prioritize data for troubleshooting or continuous improvement.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and individuals.
Proficient computer skills and experience in MS Office, SAP, Workforce, INTELEX, WorkDay, eDocs, UTILISPHERE, and Prometheus preferred but not
required.
Valid driver's license is required.
Ability to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.
