Operations Supervisor (Off-Shift) Location US-IL-Sauget Category Manufacturing Overview

Responsible for overall safe operations and security of plant during off-shift hours, weekends, holidays, and for keeping plant operative through safe effective use of work force.  

Responsibilities

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Able to coordinate Plant Emergency Situations Familiar with labor relations and the bargaining agreement. Provides plant supervision and EHS leadership to a closed union shop during the off hours. Able to trouble-shoot process and mechanical systems. Knowledge of Sauget Plant operating units and petrol-chemical mechanical equipment.  Ability to follow and enforce safety policies and procedures. Focuses on continuous improvement and process enhancements.  Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving problems. Provides training and daily guidance to the chemical operators and mechanics during the off hours.  Assist with maintaining and updating the unit operating procedures to ensure proper documentation of manufacturing guidelines. Provide Incident Command and leads Emergency response efforts during non-business hours. Secure scene and perform initial and follow-up investigations on all safety and reportable environmental incidents (spills, air emissions, and waste discharge) that occur on shift. Communicate with plant management on status of EHS, operations, security, logistics and all other issues on off hours. Knowledge of mechanical reliability effort. Others as assigned. 

 

Qualifications

 

Qualifications: 

Experience in petroleum/chemical manufacturing. +5 years production experience. +3years experience as supervisor. Ability to effectively build relationships with customers and co-workers. Ability to communicate in writing & orally clearly and concisely. Ability to find a solution for or to deal pro-actively with work-related problems. Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations. Ability to act in a self-confident manner to facilitate completion of a work assignment or to defend a position or idea. Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures. Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.
