Operations Support Specialist 3
Overview Spirit AeroSystems designs and builds aerostructures for both commercial and defense customers. Responsibilities Key Accountabilities: Provides expertise in production engineering disciplines. Applies principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions and coordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required. Develops quality and cost-effective methods, standards, and systems for production by applying production engineering principles. Leads and participates in long-range technical research on proposed projects. Provides guidance to less experienced manufacturing support staff. Qualifications Required Qualifications: 5-9 years in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and support —or a Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of direct experience in a similar role High School Diploma or GED High level of understanding of complex machining processes Familiarity with the RCCA process and process improvements Experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies Strong listening skills and a proactive approach to learning Ability to collaborate across functions Comfortable with basic computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and navigation through 3-D engineering models) Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree preferred not required with industry experience SAP experience is a plus; SAP is utilized daily Manufacturing/shop floor experience Lean and Six Sigma experience Spirit AeroSystems is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy, age, disability, veteran status or any other protected factor under federal, state or local law.
