What you will do

Position summary:

Collaborate with the NRV Planning and Scheduling team to maintain accurate daily inventory levels across various production lines and ensure alignment with multiple systems. Make necessary adjustments and coordinate with the planning team to guarantee consistent material availability.

Skills and Responsibilities

Required Skills/Qualities:

You have a good business understanding and holistic mindset

Strong collaborative and analytical skills

You are self-motivated and have a track record of delivering good results

You have good communication skills and enjoy interacting and driving cross functional teams and tasks

A good knowledge of overall commercial vehicle manufacturing, production planning, supply and logistics processes as well as Volvo Group NA footprint, order flows, and transportation

You are interested in new Digital solutions and technologies

Knowledge in material flows from end to end

Excellent mathematical skills

Proficient in Microsoft systems and other advanced computer skills

Relevant university degree and/or several years working experience in a logistics background

Knowledge in product structure in Volvo group (MHS to include GILM, MACS, NTRP)

 

Main areas of responsibilities:

Responsible for daily schedule adherence working with planning, operations, and third-party logistics (3PL).

Conduct root cause analysis for any deviations to the material cycle counts.

Responsible for rolling 12-month material forecasting at part and arrangement/variant level to meet the master production schedule along with daily monitoring of order sequence and material requirements.

Participate and provide input to continuous improvement initiatives/projects impacting owned systems, process and continued efficiency of operations. (ex. EWO, Kaizen)

Ensure material forecasts align with production plans for accurate supplier information communication.

Provide and keep logistics reports through data ownership and communicate achievements.

Schedule stability and PSKU expertise.

Manage the material systems working with the planning group to ensure on-time delivery of consumables and co-related functions.

Able to work all shifts, as assigned, daily overtime, and/or doubles could include weekends.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Must be able to pass pre-employment background screening, physical assessment, physical and drug screen
