The Neo1 team at American Express GBT is a full-stack innovation hub, and is looking to accelerate the growth of our spend management platform while maintaining engagement of our rapidly growing customer base of SME’s. The platform serves the spending needs of SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) as a B2B SaaS platform currently focused in the UK and US. The core spoken language of our operational team is English, spanning members who work both remotely and from our core offices internationally.
To enable this growth as a product lead SME SaaS product are looking for a new member to join our DevSecOps team focused on maturing and streamlining our Development Operations.
What you will do on a typical day:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Operations Technician to join our team, focusing on supporting Level 3 (L3) technical requests from our customer support team, assisting developers with our internal DevOps tools, managing access control, and analyzing logs & metrics. The ideal candidate will have exposure to supporting customer support teams, Python scripting, and security best practices. This role is critical in ensuring system reliability, efficiency, and security while providing technical support.
What we are looking for:Technical Expertise:Proficiency in Ops and DevOps concepts.
Knowledge of SQL.
Exposure to Python scripting skills.
Experience with log management tools (e.g., ELK Stack, Splunk, Datadog, etc.).
Understanding of full-stack infrastructure in AWS.
Experience with ticketing systems like Jira.
Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and version control systems such as Git.
Access Control Knowledge:
Hands-on experience implementing and managing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
Strong understanding of identity and access management principles.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems in distributed systems.
Proven ability to carry out RCA and proactive Risk Assessment on requests and changes considered.
Security Awareness:
Knowledge of security best practices
Exposure to the PCI-DSS compliance standard.
Soft Skills:
A customer-focused mindset.
Attention to detail with a process-oriented approach.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to write technical documentation in English.
Willing to and agree to work flexible working hours, to support the needs of customers and colleagues in US time zones. Example start at 11AM and finish at 7PM as requested.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with Security Control Systems and Frameworks (e.g., SOX, PCI-DSS, ISO).
Knowledge of database systems (SQL/NoSQL).
