Job Description
The Operations Technician is responsible for the physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, and storing of materials and supplies. They oversee the movement of merchandise and verify orders for accuracy and quality. They ensure accuracy when logging and maintaining records of goods received and shipped. The Operations Technician works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature, following established procedures on routine work and requiring instruction only for new assignments.
ResponsibilitiesPerform physical and clerical tasks associated with shipment and receipt of supplies and finished products, adhering to organizational procedures.Unload, unpack, and check goods received against purchase orders or invoices and delivery tickets for accuracy. Maintain records of received goods and reject unsatisfactory items, as necessary.Follow effective outbound shipping processes to ensure accurate, on-time delivery of orders and adherence to packaging and shipping requirements.Stay up to date on United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) and International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations, and the transportation of dangerous goods using internal and external resources.Lift heavy items and operate materials handling equipment and forklift.Prepare and maintain records of merchandise shipped. Process incoming and outgoing transactions. Post weights and generate shipping labels and documents, and prepare goods for final shipment.Process shipments with authorized vendors.Examine, stock, and distribute materials to inventory and manufacturing lines.Apply acquired job skills and organizational policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.Essential SkillsExperience in packaging, ERP systems, mitigation, supply chain processes, and SOPs.Experience within a regulated environment.Attention to detail.Logistics with shipping experience.Professionalism in emails and conducting customer calls.Knowledge of IATA regulations and sample handling.Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum HS Diploma with some related experience or cGMP/GMP Manufacturing experience.Experience within Life Science or a degree in Life Science is highly desirable.Work Environment
The work environment includes production floor activities as well as back-of-the-house work. The work schedule is Monday through Friday with hours ranging from starting at 7 AM or 9 AM for an 8-hour shift.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
