Summary

Incumbents may determine best methods and procedures to follow to complete assignments. Tasks are very complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Decisions/actions may have an impact on the departments goals and may go beyond the department. Works under minimum Supervision. Situations not covered by standard processes, procedures and methods are referred to manager or expert resource. May provide functional guidance to others performing similar work. May be considered the expert in areas assigned. Builds internal and external relationships that require exchanging information and providing some explanations in a problem solving capacity.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

Coordinates and leads the training activity for a group of trainers and / or coordinates and administers training directly to a group of employees. Engages with Site Quality Teams/Process Engineering/Test Engineering Teams to review quality issues and identify areas for training improvements. Provides feedback for and implements new training programs. Participates in administering training programs and organizes and conducts training in various processes related to the assembly, inspection, testing and repair of company products. Develops and delivers training packages for production equipment. Tests employees and audits trained operators. Certifies or decertifies operators as a result of testing. Maintains a training database for all skills related training for direct staff and ESD/technical certification for other staff. Disseminates re-certification notices, creates and distributes certification cards, and updates employees training records Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Ability to coordinate training activities. Strong skills to measure effectiveness of training utilizing inputs from other functional business areas eg quality. Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes in order to develop/ deliver/training as well as audit operators and trainers. Solid presentation and training skills. Ability to communicate effectively in both one to one and group situations. Ability to work effectively with team members and lead the team to achieve training objectives within tight deadlines. Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in some or all of the following applications: Word, Lotus Notes, Excel and Documentation control systems. Ability to maintain detailed accurate and organized records. More advanced manufacturing system knowledge. Ability to communicate effectively in both one to one and group situations. Physical Demands Duties of this position are performed largely in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. Duties are occasionally performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional to frequent exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc. Typical Experience Four to six years of relevant experience Typical Education High school diploma and additional courses after high school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
