Operations Work Lead

Commercial Insurance Work Lead Position ( Philadelphia, PA  & Pittsburgh, PA ) 

The Work Leader position has been developed for qualified UAAs who have an interest in pursuing a career in Operations supervision.

Position Responsibilities: 
The Work Lead is positioned to be a technical lead reporting into Operations Leadership. (70% Production/30% Leadership) 

Book Production Management: 

The Work Lead is responsible for supporting the underwriting process for New and Renewal Chubb Customers for multiple lines of insurance coverages.  This position is also accountable for collaborating with team members to achieve growth, profit, renewal retention, service and producer/client management goals for an assigned book of business in the middle market segment of Commercial Insurance. The Work Lead will gather and analyze account information, interpret, and translate data into rating and issuance instructions as well as utilize federal and state compliance and regulatory rules to comply with corporate pricing strategies. In partnership with the Underwriter, the Work Lead will be accountable for documenting a risk narrative that conforms with the corporate audit as well as state market conduct exams. This position demonstrates the highest technical acumen. 

Leadership Responsibilities: 

Technical/Workflow: 

Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge across multiple customer segmentations. Act as a technical resource to the UAA team on underwriting guidelines and operational process/workflow and compliance. (TPM Review, Workflow Changes, Strategy Memos) Assist with research and troubleshoot systems issues and assist with Quality reviews. Develop and execute training modules to support the education of new hires /continuing education of UAA team in conjunction with Field Ops L&D Manager, and act as mentor/coach to those UAAs needing assistance.  Assist leadership in communication/execution of Operational priorities at manager direction.  Ability to establish priorities, plan and execute on projects/assignments

Desired Qualifications:  

The ideal candidate must possess the following skills: 

Advanced PC Skills:  Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite with emphasis on Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Advanced internet navigation skills and working knowledge of all key operational workflow/process reporting tools.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with internal and external partners in a multi-cultural environment. Proven analytical skills and mathematical aptitude (arithmetic, algebra and basic accounting principles) Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills which lead to confident decision making  Ability to learn quickly, prioritize work, and perform within time constraints.  Strong time and desk management skills and detail orientation will aid the candidate in meeting or exceed the established business goals.  Advanced knowledge of Chubb Systems and Underwriting StrategiesAbility to work independently within a team/group environment with ability to collaborate with others and influence peers/drive Operational priorities. Ability to adapt to fast paced environment 

Education and Experience: 

Associates Degree or equivalent, 4-Year degree preferred Minimum of 5-7 years relevant insurance experience

 Internal Posting Eligibility:  

Non-Exempt level employees (eligible for overtime pay) must be in their current position at least 12 months. Employees are not eligible to apply for a posted role if they have received a termination warning for any reason in the last twelve months.  Employees are required to notify their manager and their HR Manager of their application for an internal position once they are invited to begin the formal interview process.
