Operator, Pipeline (Houston Ship Channel) - 000F5T Description Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. Our services include: natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation and storage; NGL transportation, fractionation, storage and import and export terminals; crude oil gathering, transportation, storage and terminals; petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage and terminals; and a marine transportation business that operates primarily on the United States inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems. The partnership’s assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity. The Pipeline Operator performs terminal and station operations both in and outside responsibilities. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Plans vessel arrival, directs position of the vessel along the dock, places gangway equipment from the vessel to shore, and attaches loading arms to vessel. + Leads pre-transfer meeting with vessel Captain and Officers to review Declaration of Inspection, Terminal Rules and Regulations, and other related information and documentation. + Plans and executes vessel discharge and crude oil delivery to appropriate pipelines or tankage. + Performs measurement analysis to determine crude oil API gravity and sediment and water percentage. + Monitors operational data during crude oil movements and takes appropriate actions when necessary. + Performs valve alignments, pigging operations, connection and disconnection of loading arms and hoses, monitors and operates vapor combustion system for marine terminal vessel loading. + Performs and assists with facility maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, lifting equipment, and other facility equipment as needed. + Ensures safety and protection of the environment for of activities performed by terminal and vessels while berthed, including bunkering, maintenance, inspection, and crude oil washing activities. + Monitors terminal equipment during operational activities to ensure proper function. + Performs tank-to-tank transfers when necessary. + Gathers and organizes measurement data, including meter counts, sediment and water data, and other related information. + Enters measurement data into ticketing system, analyzing the data once entered, and correcting any errors. + Performs basic maintenance activities, such as strainer cleaning, general housekeeping, and other related activities. + Plans and executes equipment and pipeline drain activities prior to maintenance or new construction work. + Assigns work permits for company and contract personnel working at local facilities. + Develops procedures for abnormal operational activities and communicates procedures to internal customers. + Communicates operational information, maintenance needs, and other related information to internal and external customers in both verbal and written form. + Coordinates emergency response activities when necessary and can act as first responder when required. + Obtains and maintains US Coast Guard person-in-charge certification. + Capable of activating emergency response plan for the area, including making necessary preliminary notifications. Qualifications The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent required. + Associates degree in related field preferred. + 1-3 years’ marine terminal, pipeline facility, or terminal facility handling bulk liquids is preferred. + May be required to participate in the Respiratory Protection Program and wear respirator to perform tasks + Must be able to follow written procedures. + Must be able to work with minimal supervision. + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, manuals and reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. + Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concept such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions if required. + Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret variety of technical instructions. + Must be available to work a 12 hour rotating shift schedule and/or respond to call-outs as necessary + Must live or relocate within 1 hour of reporting time.
