Summary
The Operator Class 2 – Paint operates advanced or more sophisticated equipment, such as forklifts and overhead cranes, in the paint shop to build and move truck assemblies and materials.
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
Operates advanced or more sophisticated machinery in the paint shop to build truck assemblies for railcarsOperates machinery to move truck assemblies through the paint shopOperates forklift and overhead cranes to move material into position to build truck assembliesEnsures that equipment is maintained and operating properly before beginning workEnsures that safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintainedQualifications

Minimum Qualifications
6+ months experience operating various types of manufacturing equipment and machineryAbility to be fit-tested and wear a respirator in the areas where respirator use is requiredAbility to read and comprehend blueprints and work instructionsAbility to use a computerAbility to work in a team or independentlyAbility to obtain in-house forklift certificationPreferred Qualifications

This position is in a production environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, moving railcars and machinery, and trip hazards where head, hearing, eye, and foot protection including composite toed safety shoes, are required.This position will be exposed to hazardous chemicals which requires the use of a blast suit, gloves, and wearing a respirator.For Safety purposes, employees must be clean-shaven when wearing a respirator.Additional personal protective equipment may be required as determined by the environment.This position may be required to work at heights of 20 ft or within confined spaces.Physical Activities and Requirements
