**Pay:** $20 **Location:** South Sacramento **Job Description** The Bakery Operator is an entry level training position running various pieces of equipment in production and packaging. The Operator will report to the Line Supervisor. The Operator will assist with running any equipment or machine associated with production and packaging. The Operator will be trained by a subject matter expert per the work instructions and be expected to run the equipment proficiently. The Operator will not be proficient in all equipment associated with packaging/production but will be with selecting equipment and machinery (training to be certified on one machine for advancement to Sr. Operator). The Operator will be expected to follow all specifications per our specification sheets. The Operator will be expected to manage the proper weights, settings, packaging, quality, speeds, labels, ingredients, and alert Management if there are any issues compromising product quality. The Operator will not run the equipment if the equipment is not deemed as safe and will alert Management of any Safety related issues. **Role and Responsibilities** • Ensure that you are following all safety, GMP, and quality policies and regulations. • Monitor all areas to ensure product quality and that the product specifications are being adhered to . • Assist with training and cross-training when necessary. • Assist with providing breaks rotations as directed and lunches to employees, when necessary. • Continuously improve on learning all products and requirements to make them properly. • Ensure that all areas of responsibility are kept as clean as possible during the run and at the conclusion of the run, that all equipment, raw materials, and waste are placed in their proper locations. • Monitor finished product quality with a focus on eliminating cripples and increasing the throughput of the production and packaging department. • Actively communicates with other Bakery team members and supervisors to identify and resolve challenges while improving operational efficiencies. • Performs routine safety checks to ensure workspace is free from potential safety risks while working with overall bakery team to promote a safe workplace environment. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** • High School Diploma or GED • Must be 18 or older • Must be able to Lift 50lbs continuously throughout the day without assistance • Must be able to Push/Pull 50lbs continuously throughout the day without assistance • Must be able to stand for 8-12 hrs a day • Must be able to work overtime and weekends if needed. • Must be able to comprehend basic English language (speak/understand, read/write) • MUST have Non slip (Oil/water rated) safety shoes (no steal toe required) • Must follow all of our PPE/GMP requirements, to include, no jewelry, no perfumes/cologne, no fake eyelashes, no fake fingernails, no shorts/spandex/ sweats. **Work Environment** Manufacturing, GMP environment, It can be very hot in there and very loud. Fast paced environment. Smells good. Prep people on Gluten/Flour allergies. Our GMP’s include: • Wearing of jewelry such as rings (including wedding bands with stones and all forms of jewelry), watches and necklaces, earrings or other exposed body piercings are not permitted in the processing area. The only permitted exceptions will be wedding bands without stones and approved medical alert identification worn on the wrist or neck. Such items must be appropriately COVERED as per Health and Safety requirements. • Hands and fingernails must be kept clean. Fingernails must be appropriately trimmed. Nail polish, false fingernails, false eyelashes and other cosmetic devices, hair beading etc. are not allowed in the plant. • Employees are required to wear approved non slip (water and oil) safety footwear • Work clothing: employees must wear company provided smocks, gloves, hairnets and beard nets. All clothing, including smocks, and gloves are to be kept clean. Jeans and Khakis are preferred (DO NOT WEAR TIGHTS, SWEATS, SHORTS, OR PAJAMAS) • Hair must be properly restrained with company approved protective hairnets. Beards and mustaches must be covered in the manufacturing area at all times with provided beard nets. • Carrying or using any form of tobacco is only permitted within designated areas of the plant (outside picnic area or parking lot). • No gum chewing in the manufacturing area. • There are no cell phones allowed in the manufacturing area. You can use your phone outside of the facility, in the break room and locker rooms. • You must wash your hands every time you enter the manufacturing facility and when you leave the restroom. Hands must be washed for a minimum of 20 seconds using the supplied soap. • You must wear gloves when working in the manufacturing area. Gloves are to be worn immediately after washing your hands at the hand washing stations. If gloves break and need changing, you must wash you hands before putting on new gloves. • Hard Hats (bump caps) must be worn when working in or around low hanging equipment ( 8 feet or lower). This means if you are walking/working under a conveyer belt, or around a low hanging conveyer belt, you must wear a bump cap. • Glass of any type is prohibited from the manufacturing area. • Food is prohibited from being brought into the manufacturing area. • This is a Peanut free facility.
