The Combustion Tech is responsible for the effective, efficient, compliant, and safe operation of the power plant and its auxiliary systems and equipment. Combustion Tech is responsible for operating and monitoring the status of all plant systems on a continuous basis to ensure that the plant meets its generating requirements while operating in a safe and efficient manner, and in compliance with all applicable permits, codes, and regulations.Plant operations include but are not limited to plant start-up and shutdown and routine maintenance and repair of gas turbine/generation, ancillary equipment, and all instruments, control systems, and electronic instrumentation. The Combustion Tech is responsible for all plant operations activities during assigned shift. Carries out routine inspections, monitoring, and logging of operating components to provide accurate, reliable operation, and reporting of plant status. This includes responding to alarms by taking appropriate corrective actions.•\tPromote safety, environmental, and regulatory excellence - exhibit leadership in shaping the plant’s safety, environmental and regulatory culture. •\tAlways operates the facility within compliance of all State and Federal permits and regulations.•\tRequired to adhere to the company policies and comply with all site-specific safety requirements and procedures.•\tOperates, monitors, and tracks normal operations of the plant equipment.•\tUtilizes specific and defined procedures developed in the plant operating manuals to shut-down and start-up plant equipment with the goal being to achieve safe, consistent, and optimum plant output.•\tTest and treat water chemistry control as per written procedures. •\tMaintains timely and accurate recordkeeping of operating logs, timesheets, work orders, and other administrative documents as required.•\tInvestigate and troubleshoot plant issues to correct problems, and or provide feedback, analysis and recommendations.•\tMaintains, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical and de-energized electrical equipment. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, the gas turbine and auxiliary components, gas compressors, motors, pumps, and other auxiliary equipment.•\tParticipates in the administrative maintenance and upgrading of operating manuals, preventive/predictive maintenance procedures, technical references, prints, and diagrams.•\tAssists with the training of new and existing operators, and other plant staff.•\tActively support continuous improvement work system by:o\tTaking part in team activities, sharing ideas and opinions at meetings.o\tLearning techniques, methods, and skills needed to participate in improvement activities.o\tWorking to get everyone involved and to build good relationships among team members.o\tStrive to learn new techniques and coaching team members in their use.o\tEffectively apply your skills and knowledge to improve plant performance•\tIdentifies safety hazards and takes corrective actions as necessary•\tAttends safety meetings and training programs, and participates in plant safety programs as required.•\tEnsures that lock out tag out processes and work permit processes are issued and administered in compliance with plant safety procedures in a safe manner.•\tComplete plant operator training. •\tMaintain plant in a neat and orderly manner.

Education, Knowledge and Skills:•\tFive plus years’ experience in Gas Turbine operations and maintenance. •\tRead and interpret electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams.•\tKnowledge of turbine instrumentation calibration, including various types of transmitters.•\tExperience on Mark VIe controls systems, preferred.•\tAbility to trouble-shoot controls and logic.•\tExceptional analytic, organizational and problem-solving abilities.•\tAbility to work and interact with team members, and departments throughout the organization.•\tMust be proficient in Microsoft Windows/Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).•\tMust be able to multi-task.•\tMust have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.•\tRelies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.•\tAbility to work independently.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
