**Job Description**
Operators are responsible for ensuring that the company maintains its high industry standards by producing quality products for its customers. The operator will be responsible for receiving raw materials, partnering with QC to test materials/products, blending high volume cellulose powder, packaging finished goods, and for maintaining and enhancing a safe, productive, and quality-driven atmosphere.
**Responsibilities**
+ Mix high volume cellulose powder into a blender.
+ Monitor manufacturing processes.
+ Shutdown and internally clean the process equipment.
+ Continuously monitor equipment and instrumentation safely, with minimal guidance. Equipment may include mills, blenders, shakers, PLCs, water systems, pumps, extruders/dispersers, forklifts, and hand trucks.
+ Ensure all documentation is cGMP compliant.
+ Adhere to safety and quality protocols including uniforms, hairnets, beard covers, safety glasses, hardhats, and hearing protection.
+ Perform some equipment maintenance and improvements.
+ Identify and communicate continuous improvement opportunities.
+ Perform other general tasks as guided by management such as cleaning and disinfecting work areas (sweeping, mopping, cleaning equipment with detergents).
**Essential Skills**
+ 1 year minimum of manufacturing experience.
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Proficient math skills.
+ Ability to read and comprehend English.
+ Ability to lift and move 50lbs on a regular basis.
+ Mechanical aptitude.
**Available Shifts & Pay**
+ 1st shift: 6AM-6:30PM on a 2/2/3 schedule
+ 3rd shift: 6PM-6:30AM on a 2/2/3 schedule
+ **$19.50 - $22** based on shift
**Why Work Here?**
Once candidates are brought on permanently, they will be eligible to participate in the profitability bonus, which is paid out on an annual basis based on the entire company's performance. Operators also have the ability to advance to Operator 2 and Operator 3 positions, each with a corresponding pay raise.
**Work Environment**
The manufacturing environment is temperature controlled. Most interaction will be within a team of 4, with responsibilities provided by the shift supervisor. The company culture is strong, with a focus on teamwork and a work-first mentality. Safety and quality protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), are strictly adhered to.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of the East side Indianapolis, Indiana.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $22.00/hr.
