Find your purpose as an Operator Engineer 1st Class B at the St. Cloud Hospital. The Operator Engineer is responsible for operating boilers and all associated equipment in compliance with “Rules and Regulations relating to the Division of Boiler Inspection” through the State of Minnesota. Performs duties related to preventative maintenance and repair of boiler, mechanical, plumbing, tube system, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and other duties as assigned. Answers phones responding to staff and patient problems related to building temperature, pneumatic tube system and other items. May also include construction or renovation related activities. Completes work orders in a timely manner providing details on activities completed, time spent, and parts used. May be assigned to shift work for 24-hour, 7 days per week coverage of boiler plant. Implements and abides by CentraCare Customer Service Standards.
Schedule:
Full-time 80 hours every 2 weeks. Shifts vary throughout the year, established annually by the Chief Engineer. Day, evening, night and/or weekend rotations or coverage and possibly on-call.Pay and Benefits:

High School Diploma or GED; technical or trade school preferred. 3 years at a minimum of experience in operating high pressure boilers and associated equipment. Technical knowledge/experience in building systems and equipment required. MN First Class A or B Engineer license or Chief Engineer Class B license or Chief A Boiler license required upon hire. Operational knowledge of temperature control systems preferred. Operational knowledge of work order systems preferred. Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred. Operational knowledge of electronic drawing programs preferred. General computer skills required; must have written and verbal communication skills. A valid Minnesota driver’s license and a driving record in good standing required. The ability to read and understand building drawings, manufacture drawings, and literature required.
