What you'll do as an Operator Protects Customer product by assuring proper processing and handling according to operating procedures, Customer, quality, regulatory and internal company specifications; reviews and completes all appropriate processing documentation. Tasks may include but are not limited to placing and retrieving dose verification devices, loading / unloading product into processing rooms and/or vessels; loading product onto pallets; staging processed product in shipping storage area. Ensures production schedule is followed and maintains critical product flow through the facility by effectively coordinating daily tasks and personnel to meet production demands and prevent unplanned downtime. Maintains required Operator certification(s), knowledge and understanding associated with the processing modality for which they are certified. Understands the scheduling process and can make recommendations to scheduling adjustments as needed. Monitors processing operation, control systems and equipment functionality to ensure safety and Customer specifications are met. Responds to process and equipment alarm conditions while acting within operational and safety guidelines. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by monitoring environmental control systems and inspecting equipment for unsafe conditions and reporting to supervision as required; generates maintenance work orders for repairs; responds to process and equipment alarm conditions and acting within operational and safety guidelines; conducts area housekeeping on a daily basis. May participate in scheduled or unscheduled safety rounds. Performs intermittent Team Leader duties including supervising the plant floor and employee training during assigned shift, and assuming lead position for day-to-day activities as needed. Assists the management in ensuring the proper processing of Customer products, serving as back-up, and performing lead duties as needed. Provides guidance and direction and assists in training activities. Collaborates with supervision to ensure completion and effectiveness of training requirements, performance objectives and goals. Contributes to a team effort by performing in accordance with all STERIS policies, Values, GMP, Lean principles and other directives; supports the directives and decisions of higher-level management and performs other duties as assigned. Education Degree High School Diploma or GED You will be a great fit if you can: Pass a Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) required background check for specific locations. Ability to effectively read, write and verbally communicate. Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision. Requires ability to navigate through defined computer screens. Above average organizing and analyzing skills and Level 2 math skills (four basic arithmetic functions in all units of measurement, decimals ratios, rates, percentages) to determine organizational, Customer and regulatory problems and formulate corrective action plans; attention to detail. Able to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities. Basic understanding of sterilization principles and need for extreme caution handling product. Normal hearing range sufficient to hear alarms, bells, horns, etc. Ability to operate a forklift. What STERIS Offers

 Pay for this opportunity is $29.90 an hour. 

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
