The hourly pay rate for the Operator III position is $31.30 per hour plus $3 shift differential. Annual merit, bonus and incentive plans are also offered. This position works a Wednesday 12AM - 6AM, Thursday - Saturday 6PM - 6AM shift and offers overtime potential based on business needs.   

 

Summary:

Assists the Supervisor and/or Manager in the processing of Customer products.  Processes Customer product utilizing one or more processing modalities, (Gamma, EtO, E-Beam or X-Ray).  Ensures safe operation of processing equipment in accordance with operating regulations and procedures; assuring proper care of Customer product. Oversees the floor activities, lead position for day-to-day activities and employee training during assigned shift.  

What you'll do as an Operator III Ensures Customer product is properly handled through monitoring movement and storage of unprocessed and processed product in a manner to permit accurate tracking and avoid product damage. 10% Reviews product and process documents and instructions, i.e. Customer provided special instructions or work instructions, and ensures accurate processing.  20% Ensures Customer product is processed according to specified procedure by maintaining machines and equipment for proper operation and minimized downtime and deviations; perform repairs when needed until maintenance is required for more complex repairs.  15% Maintains a safe, clean and secure working environment by enforcing procedures, rules and regulations; monitoring all safety and security systems and procedures on a regular basis; advising management of unsafe work practices or conditions; supporting plant safety meetings that evaluate plant machinery, equipment and working conditions.  10% Ensures compliance with Corporate QS/RC and GMP procedures by monitoring established programs; monitoring production and scheduling activities on a daily basis; maintaining frequent contact with Manager, Quality and Maintenance staff.  10% Conducts pre-shift meetings with shift personnel.  Ensures continuity of production from shift to shift by communicating person-to-person daily with shift personnel including discussion of safety, processing, maintenance or quality problems occurring during the preceding shift.  10% Contributes to organizational communications by maintaining frequent coordination with Supervisor and/or Manager to review methods and approaches to effective implementation of work instructions, to freely exchange of ideas, to review shift activities and paperwork and initiate corrective actions as needed. 15% Contributes opinions for performance management of shift personnel.  10% Provides protection to employees by promoting personal protection and issuing monitoring devices in hazardous areas as required by safety rules and laws.   The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

Required:

High School Diploma or G.E.D.  Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a certified Operator in a sterilization modality.  Must be classified as an Operator and retain Operator Certification for a minimum of twelve months prior to being classified as an Operator III and as required by governing regulatory bodies.  Must be certified to operate manual and motorized material handling equipment, including, but not limited to, forklifts, pallet jacks, elevators, conveyors, etc. and processing vessels or irradiators.  Ability to effectively read, write and verbally communicate. 

 

Preferred:

Five (5) years basic maintenance abilities.  Leadership/supervisory experience.  Experience with customer service, validation, following specifications, and mechanical troubleshooting. Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision. Ability to navigate through defined computer screens. Above average organizing and analyzing skills and Level 2 math skills (basic arithmetic functions in all units of measurement, decimals ratios, rates, percentages) to determine organizational, Customer and regulatory problems and formulate corrective action plans; attention to detail. Obtain or maintain licenses/certifications as applicable. Able to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities. Basic understanding of sterilization principles and need for extreme caution handling product. What STERIS Offers

 Pay range for this opportunity is $24.40 - $34.20. This position is eligible for [BONUS PARTICIPATION] OR a [INSERT COMMISSION RATE RANGE, IF APPLICABLE] commission.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

Full-Time employees are eligible for four weeks of paid parental leave. Part-time employees also receive paid parental leave, pro-rated based on their standard hourly work week.
