Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Plant Operator/Mechanic to join our team in Quincy. This role involves inspecting, maintaining, and controlling process equipment while performing mechanical maintenance throughout the plant. You will adhere to all applicable regulations to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operations, meeting all processing, permit, and other requirements.
ResponsibilitiesMonitor and control plant operations in accordance with company policies and standard operating procedures.Maintain records of plant operations, including hourly operating data and abnormal operating conditions, ensuring compliance with permits and production of high-quality products.Participate and complete training programs within the allotted time frame.Perform general work assignments to ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the facility, including housekeeping tasks such as sweeping and shoveling.Enforce and maintain standard safety procedures and keep the work area clean at all times.Perform fire guard duty and confined space watch.Essential SkillsStrong mechanical or electrical aptitude.Reliable vehicle for commuting.Ability to work varying shifts, overtime, holidays, on-call duty, and emergency call-ins.Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, including the ability to read a tape measure and use hand tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent.Minimum 1 year of experience as an operator or in other process plant operations.Ability to learn and interpret blueprint drawings.Ability to read and comprehend instructional manuals, technical data, work orders, and mechanical drawings in English.Physical ability to perform required duties at heights up to 20 ft and use PPE if necessary.Ability to use industrial forklifts/man lifts and operate hand and power tools.Capability to lift up to 100 lbs and move about all areas of the plant.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00
