Operator - Production & Packaging

Come join HARIBO of America’s first ever North American factory! Located on-site in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, the Machine Operator will be responsible for running and maintaining department production and/or packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Machine Operator will set up and operate machinery and processes in their assigned area, assuring compliance to all quality, environmental and cost standards. The Machine Operator will partner with support functions to identify and resolve unplanned downtime events, quality, safety, cost, and other losses attributed to the area, using problem solving techniques and a continuous improvement mindset. The ideal Machine Operator will have three years’ experience in machine operation in a food manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:
+ May operate a wide array of machinery, including tanks, vats, boilers, and kettles, to prepare product for the downstream operations.
+ Resolve any changes in product flow, equipment malfunctions, shortages or deviations.
+ May check and inspect packages for correct dates, codes, weights and cut lines.
+ Ensure machine is supplied with correct material needed to run and complete documentation.
+ Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
+ Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
Qualifications:
+ Requires education equivalent to a high school diploma.
+ Requires three (3) years of progressive manufacturing and/or packaging experience.
+ Must be flexible with off-shift work schedule and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Machine operations preferably in the fast-moving consumer goods/food/beverage/pharma industries.
+ Understands production and packaging machine operations including box erecting, case packing, and palletizing.
+ Requires computer skills with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
+ Knowledgeable of food safety and food quality standards and regulations such as SQF and environmental and people-based safety practices and regulations.
+ Requires mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, divide, work with percentages. Preferred basic knowledge of algebra as well as make adjustments to equipment settings.
