**Job Title: Machine Operator Trainee** **Job Description** We are seeking candidates to join our production team, which offers various opportunities including machine operating, grinder operating, quality control, material handling, CNC operations, and more. Our product, primarily composed of pressed carbon, serves as seals, couplings, and washers in the Oil Industry. These products are unique and act as insulators, similar to cast iron but do not transfer heat. **Responsibilities** + Operate a machine that presses powder carbon into small rings. + Operate a grinding machine to grind pieces to the proper size after performing quality checks with micrometers and calipers. + Perform offsets on machines to ensure parts are produced to specification. + Visually inspect rings for imperfections and neatly stack them into a large bucket. + Move buckets into a giant furnace where the rings will cook and solidify for 5 days. + Operate lapper machines and monitor their progress. + Perform repetitive tasks and maintain focus on quality and efficiency. **Essential Skills** + Previous production experience working with machinery. + Experience with micrometers, calipers, drop gauges, or veneer. + Familiarity with reading blueprints. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Grinding experience. + Experience with Press Machinery, Manual Machines (Mill/Lathes/Grinders), Thermoforming Machines, or Injection Molding Machines. + Strong mechanical aptitude. + Understanding of 'ID' and 'OD'. + Good vision to handle small parts. **Why Work Here?** We offer excellent benefits and a 401K plan. The work environment involves running press machines, grinding material, and performing self-inspections using micrometers and calipers. It is a smaller facility within a large company, where the primary product is carbon-based rings. The environment can be dirty and hot, depending on the weather. Uniforms are provided along with a daily laundry service for $2 a week, ensuring clean uniforms every day. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Crystal Lake, IL, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
