Lean Specialist - Princeton, IL
Supporting the site Value Stream, this position is responsible for supporting the Lean transformation and daily management initiatives by ensuring strategies are implemented and principles/practices/tools are incorporated in the culture and processes under transformation. This position implements and supports actions that bring about improvements to safety, quality, customer value, delivery, cost and inventory.
What You Will Do:
Support the Value Stream in implementing continuous improvement objectives and daily management across all areas of the enterprise.Work with necessary site personnel to identify, address, and eliminate process related obstacles and waste factorsUtilize value stream mapping techniques to design optimal information, material, and production flow methodsAct as a change agent to bring about improvements in the manufacturing process through the active support, participation and leadership of Rapid Improvement Events, Problem Solving and project management.Provide necessary training specific to Lean Transformation tools and methodology (under the guidance of the Operational Excellence Manager)Update and maintain visual performance tools, including mission control and MDI boardsAssist all teams as needed to ensure improvements are made and sustainedConduct cycle time analyses, time studies, line balance improvements, workplace analysis and improvementsCreate and implement standard work, work instructions and teaching/coaching line leaders to do the sameAssist operations in problem solving issues affecting safety, quality, delivery and costSupport the launch of capital equipment projects, new product launches and redesigns.Drive a Lean culture change through coaching of employees and leaders to drive lean behaviors, and follow the principles and practices of Enterprise ExcellenceCollect / track data of changes and improvements made to provide Plant Leadership the assurance that changes are effective and lasting.Through data analysis, review efficiency and effectiveness of equipment and processes and identify areas for improvementWhat You Will Need To Succeed:
Associates or Bachelors degree or related discipline preferred (Equivalent education / training / or experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree)Experience working in a world-class Lean environment highly preferredKnowledge of basic Lean Manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement-based tools and techniques highly preferredComputer proficiency using Excel, Word, Power Point, Power BI highly preferredAbility to demonstrate manual dexterity; ability to use fingers and hands to feel, handle, or squeeze; reach with hands and arms; twist/turn body.Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit, frequently and for extended periods of time.Allegion is a Great Place to Grow your Career if:
