Position Highlights:
Position: Ophthalmic Medical AssistantHourly Pay Range: $19.89 - $28.84. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate’s expertise and years of experience, among other factors.Location: Glenview, ILFull Time/Part Time: Full TimeHours: Monday-Friday, 7:45am – 7pm Required Travel: Travel to other sites based upon department needWhat you will do:
Receives payments from patients and distributes appropriate receipts and change if necessary.Posts credit and payments to the computer system for patients utilizing the NorthShore Web.Navigates several computer systems to obtain payment billing information. Explains billing information to patients, balances due and collects payments as necessary. Encourages and reinforces prompt patient payments. Refers patient to financial counseling as appropriate.Locates correct pre-registered patient in system.Validates demographic and registration information with patient, corrects demographic and registration if necessary.Works Epic registration work queues.Promptly greets all patients upon entry to the office.Scans insurance cards and drivers licenses and collects patient co-payments and self-pay balances.Obtains appropriate documentation from patients (i.e. A+A and MSPQ).Calls and reschedules no shows.Identifies and reconciles cash and balances variances daily.Ensures compliance with internal audit for balancing cash, following established procedure.
What you will need:
High School RequiredOne year experience as a NorthShore Medical Group (PSA) Patient Support Associate in ophthalmology department or related experience.
