Job Description
Performs photographic and non-photographic diagnostic testing; schedules and explains diagnostic procedures; maintains patient-flow; assists with educational/communication activities.
Job Responsibility
Performs photographic diagnostic testing on patients including, but not limited to fluorescein angiography, fundus photography, slit lamp photography, endothelial cell counts, stereo disc photos, external photos, slit lamp photographs, operating room photography and video. Prepares diagnostic tests and photographs for evaluation by department physicians. Assists ophthalmologists in implementing patient’s plan-of-care. Obtains medical/ophthalmic history, checks visual acuities, performs visual fields, administers eye drops and other medications necessary for eye examinations. Processes and prints color and black/white film in darkroom. Prints, mounts, and prepares photographic reports for presentation to attending physicians. Assists in a variety of educational activities, including Grand Rounds, clinical days, and fluorescein conference. Schedules and explains diagnostic procedures, and prepares patients. Prepares reports and finished work for distribution. Coordinates flow of patients to maximize physician and room utilization and minimize patient waiting times. Prepares lecture material and case presentations. Performs related duties as required. Job Qualification
High School Diploma or equivalent required. 1-3 years of relevant experience, required. Experience in Heidelberg Imaging highly preferred. Experience in Corneal Topography highly preferred.
