Certified as Ophthalmic Technician through the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology is required. Considerable experience as an Ophthalmic Technician is required.Intermediate Level
Certification as an Ophthalmic Asst from the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology is required. Reasonable experience as an Ophthalmic Technician is required.Associate Level
Completion of Michigan Medicine's 12-week training program or some experience as an Ophthalmic Technician is required. Certification as an Ophthalmic Asst within one year of employment.Desired Qualifications*Experience with the MiChart (Epic) electronic health record (EHR) systemExperience with the OnCore clinical trial management system (CTMS)At least two years of college with courses in the health science area is strongly preferredSenior Level

Union AffiliationThis position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
Background ScreeningMichigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
