Georgia Eye Associates started providing care in 1988 with an experienced team of optometrists and ophthalmologists they specialize in laser refractive surgery, including Lasik, as well as no-stitch and laser cataract surgery while also offering additional services such as multifocal lens implants and cornea repair/transplants.

Position Summary

The Ophthalmic Technician V, or Lead Technician/ Clinical Trainer, position is responsible for assisting the ophthalmologist by managing clinic flow, organizing the doctors' schedule, and overseeing the daily activities of the clinic. The Lead Technician assists in the clinic, as well as surgery, with their assigned doctor.

Responsibilities

This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.

 

Responsibilities include:

Directing clinic flow and oversee clinical activities.Oversee the preparation of minor procedures and laser clinic.Manage and collaborate with location managers on the doctor schedule, patient template, and physician time off. Direct clinical staff on administrative tasks including patient communications, letters, prescription refills, and other requests. Oversee care of and expedite high need and VIP patients, confirm all charts are signed off by physician and billing/coding submitted correctly. Ensure accuracy of superbills for clinic and surgery.Follow up on any rejected claims and charting or insurance needs.Diagnostic testing and exam room skills needed for Ophthalmic Technicians I-III. Travel to multiple clinic and surgical sites may be required based on physician template and schedule. Qualifications 7+ years of ophthalmic technician experience COA Required, COT/COMT Preferred Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required Must be flexible with traveling to various locations Ability to pay attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeableThe ability to recognize inconsistencies

 

Education/ Certifications:

Graduation from an accredited high school BLS certification (due to work in ASC setting) Company Benefits
