JOB DESCRIPTION

The Fox News Digital team is seeking a seasoned Opinion Columnist to be a strong voice on our platform. You will have the opportunity to craft engaging commentaries on the most pressing news of the day, resonating with and impacting our large and diverse audience.

 

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Write informed and insightful opinion pieces in response to current events covering a range of topics including politics, culture, and breaking news.

Deliver 1-2 articles per day, encompassing approximately 400-700 words each, with a voice that aligns with the Fox News Digital brand and appeals to our audience.

Pitch compelling story ideas daily and remain proactive in suggesting angles and approaches that enhance Fox News Digital's news narratives.

Work in conjunction with the Fox News Digital team to maintain a cohesive voice and direction, ensuring all content is consistent with company branding and strategy.

Manage content through our CMS, allowing for a streamlined and efficient publishing process.

Be willing to travel as needed to gather diverse perspectives and firsthand accounts, providing our readers with unique and immersive content.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Proven experience in journalism and opinion writing.

A bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, political science or a related field is preferred.

A deep understanding of political, cultural, and current event issues, with the ability to analyze and interpret these in line with the Fox News Digital audience's expectations.

The capacity to write eloquently with clarity and persuasion, upholding the values and perspective of the Fox News brand.

Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing news schedules.

A strong understanding of our readership and the journalistic acumen to deliver content that resonates with our audience's views and interests.

The ability to travel to cover stories in-depth, as required.
