Job Description
The New York City Human Resources Association (HRA) aims to improve access to medical, mental health and substance use care and prevention services, and prevent overdose deaths and improve access to prevention and care among HRA clients.
The Opioid Overdose Prevention Program Community Coordinator will manage the HRA Opioid Overdose Prevention Program which will including providing training, technical assistance and supplies (such as naloxone) to HRA and HASA affiliated staff, contracted providers and clients to prevent overdose and access to prevention services, as well as monitoring and reporting on all program activities.
The Opioid Overdose Prevention Program is seeking to recruit one (1) Community Coordinator to function as Opioid Overdose Prevention Program Community Coordinator who will:
- Collaborate with the Opioid Overdose Prevention Program director to plan, implement, coordinate, monitor report on and evaluate the HRA community Naloxone distribution program.
- Provide Overdose Response and Naloxone administration training to HRA and HASA staff, contracted vendors and clients. Participate in training recruitment, attendance tracking, initial and renewal certification, and reporting.
- Order, distribute and manage inventory of naloxone kits, and document distribution according to guidelines.
- Develop reports on Overdose Response and Naloxone Training and Distribution, and submit to the NYS Department of Health, NYC Department of health, and in accordance with the LL225 reporting requirements.
- Collect overdose response and naloxone administration data from HRA and HASA staff and contracted vendors, documents in central database and reports on overdose reversal and naloxone administration to NYS and NYC health departments and city reports as required.
- Provide resources and training for HRA staff on evidenced base overdose prevention interventions.
- Participate in cross agency overdose prevention meetings and workgroups.
Work Location: 150 Greenwich Street 30th Floor NY NY 10007
Hours/Schedule: 9:00am-17:00pm (Flexible)
Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
