Opportunistic Real Assets Researcher

What can you expect?

The Real Assets Team provides research and investment services across the full spectrum of public and private real assets investments, including real estate, infrastructure, and opportunistic real assets s.The global 40+ person team is responsible for evaluating real assets markets, identifying investment opportunities, and managing portfolios.We advise our clients on making debt and equity investments into real assets via private investment vehicles, co-investments, and secondaries.We also support the firm on broader research and developing firm-wide views on the sector.The Opportunistic Real Assets Researcher is an integral position within the team, leading a newly-created vertical to cover a wide range of sectors within the real assets world, including natural resources, natural capital, sustainable real assets, impact opportunities, and other diversifier opportunities.As part of a global investment team, this position will focus on five primary responsibilities: 1) identifying, evaluating, and monitoring private real asset investments, 2) researching and opining on real assets trends, 3) serving as a subject matter expert; 4) sourcing and executing co-investment transactions; and 5) supporting colleagues and clients on sector related matters and opportunities.

We will count on you to:

Source and lead investment due diligence on opportunistic real assets opportunities.Complete written assessments and recommendations utilized by our clients and colleagues to support investment decisions, including due diligence reports, industry research papers, and other presentations for a wide variety of audiences.Source new investment opportunities by leveraging existing industry relationships, building new relationships, and identifying other creative sourcing channels in collaboration with the broader team.Actively monitor and evaluate managers on an ongoing basis.Present at a variety of internal meetings, investment research committee discussions, and marketing presentations.Serve as a resource to colleagues seeking current information on real assets investment opportunities, including data and analysis, comparison to other fund managers, co-investments or secondaries, and the opinion of the investment team.

What you need to have:

5-8 years of due diligence research experience in infrastructure and/or natural resources.Coinvestment and/or secondaries experience a plus.Strong collaborator and work-ethic.Demonstrated qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.Demonstrated relationship-building skills.Strong written and verbal communication and strong business writing skills.Ability and willingness to engage in conversation with managers and references.Willingness and ability to travel.
