Requirements:
Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.
This is an Other Personal Services (OPS) position with an hourly rate of pay of $50.00.
This is a part-time position that cannot exceed 20 hours per week.
This position is on site and is in Tallahassee, FL. (Not a remote opportunity)
This position requires up to 5% travel.
Additional Requirements:
Courteously assists Commission constituents to resolve questions or problems they may have in matters relating to the Commission, its programs or fish and wildlife conservation in general. Seeks to garner public support for agency objectives and programs by serving Florida’s citizens in a positive and proactive manner.
The Commission expects its employees to be courteous and respectful while assisting Commission customers and stakeholders, ensuring each encounter is as positive as possible. Employees should promptly resolve questions or problems relating to the Commission, its programs and/or fish and wildlife resources. Employees should seek to gain public support for agency objectives and programs by serving Florida’s citizens in a positive and proactive manner and by listening to what the customer wants and striving to meet their needs. When appropriate, employees will explain the reasons for agency actions or decisions while communicating a consistent Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) point-of-view.
Work at FWC is cross-functional meaning duties may cross division/office lines. The Commission expects employees to function across FWC’s organizational structure by providing their skills and expertise wherever needed through work on teams or as directed.
Responsible for following the provisions and requirements in Section 215.422, Florida Statutes, related to the Department of Financial Services rules and FWC’s invoice processing and warrant distribution procedures
Duties and Responsibilities :
Develops and debugs software timely using .NET and SQL Server according to agency standards for database design, database programming, coding conventions, quality assurance and accessibility requirements.
+ All application development projects require a designated threshold of effort, a project plan, specification, statement of work, and must be approved prior to beginning development. Projects are monitored using periodic status reports and version control software.
Plans related to technical and administrative work.
+ Participates in the analysis, design, development and implementation of comprehensive management information systems, using currently approved agency tools and platforms.
+ Coordinates within the Office of Information Technology staff for the development, maintenance, and use of information technology.
+ Performs collaboratively in a team or individual environment, as required by the scope of the project.
Communicates on assigned work regularly with section leader and other staff, as appropriate.
+ Provides estimates and technical assistance with scoping of proposed development/debugging to fit project schedule(s).
+ Plans work to meet deadlines while ensuring projects meet required specifications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
+ Knowledge of Object-oriented programming principles and best practices;
+ Knowledge of relational database design;
+ Knowledge of the concepts and theories of data processing and data communications;
+ Knowledge of agile application development techniques;
+ Knowledge of data privacy and protection initiatives;
+ Ability to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, subordinates, technical staff and users;
+ Ability to communicate technical data processing information effectively, verbally and in writing;
+ Ability to complete work assignments while working with business analysts and other technical staff;
+ Ability to follow operational and maintenance procedures;
+ Ability to design, develop and test web-based applications using industry standard techniques and guidelines;
+ Ability to design, develop and test database-driven applications using industry standard techniques and guidelines.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems with existing applications;
+ Ability to utilize integrated development environment tools such as Visual Studio;
+ Ability to work independently and with a team;
+ Ability to write, read, and interpret technical specifications, test cases, and software requirements;

+ Skill in analyzing and interpreting technical data;
