This position is for our Community Team Dentist who will provide dental services in various free clinics in Pinellas County and fill in at the Health Department Dental Clinics 3-5 days per week.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
+ Providing dental treatment to patients primarily for various community partners around Pinellas County clinics including, but not limited to:
+ Examines mouth and dentition, and charts any pathologic disorders.
+ Reviews medical history.
+ Administers local anesthesia.
+ Evaluates processed dental x-rays.
+ Performs composite restorations where indicated, using liners, varnish or bases where indicated.
+ Performs dental surgical procedures where indicated, including extraction of diseased or irreparably decayed teeth.
+ Fabrication of dentures and removable partial dentures.
+ Preparation and seating of crowns.
+ Performs endodontic treatment on anterior teeth and premolars.
+ Performs dental prophylaxis and periodontal treatment where indicated.
+ Refers patients to specialists for health care services not performed in the health department.
+ Educates patients on oral hygiene, treatment, and other programs.
+ Diagnoses and presents to patients existing dental or oral pathology.
+ Prescribes medications for treatment or prevention of dental infection and relief of dental pain.
+ Treats post-operative complications and provides emergency treatment when indicated
+ Travels to outlying dental clinics.
Successful completion of a drug test is a condition of employment
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Knowledge of pathology assessment and preventive measures.
+ Ability to diagnose dental diseases.
+ Ability to evaluate and monitor quality of care.
+ Skill in treating dental diseases, including complex extractions.
+ Ability to train subordinates on prevention.
+ Skill in communication.
+ Skill in time management.
Qualifications:
Minimum
+ Valid Florida Dental License
+ CPR certification
+ Florida Driver’s License
Preferred
+ Experience with community outreach, dental mission programs
+ Bi-lingual fluency in English and Spanish

Where You Will Work:
Headquarters will be the Bayside Clinic in Clearwater but will be traveling to various community partners to see their adult populations.
