Our development team is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to support fundraising efforts and donor engagement. The Development Assistant will provide essential administrative support to the development team, assisting with donor communications, event preparation, and office operations. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects with efficiency and accuracy. This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. Key Responsibilities Administrative & Donor Support + Assist in the planning and execution of donor meetings, receptions, and special events. + Organize and prepare informational materials for donors, prospects, and development meetings. + Maintain and organize files, records, and correspondence. + Prepare donor communications and new member packets. + Generate mailing materials via mail merge for various communications (e.g., birthday cards, holiday cards, solicitation mailings). + Order and manage inventory for office materials, including stationery, business cards, and membership materials. + Perform data entry and other administrative tasks as assigned. Operations & Logistics + Attend department and staff meetings as needed. + Pick up and deliver materials using a non-university-provided vehicle. + Support additional office and development team initiatives as necessary. Expected Salary: $18.00-$22.00 commensurate with experience Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications: Qualifications & Skills The ideal candidate: + Is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. + Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong proofreading abilities. + Has proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with data entry. + Is professional, dependable, and capable of handling sensitive information with discretion. + Has experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) – preferred but not required. + Has completed a college degree program or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
