Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday. Valid driver’s license. This position requires travel up to 25%. Minimum Qualifications: 3 years of experience in computer systems such as desktop support/networking support. Position Description: This work provides technical assistance to computer system users. Incumbent works with HSC and other FWC employees to answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from remote locations. The incumbent is responsible for PCs across the state and may need to travel to various Commission locations to perform duties. Performs installation and repair of hardware, software, and peripheral equipment following design or installation specifications. Responsible for keeping an inventory of computer equipment and software in assigned areas. Assists clients with procedures for surplus computer equipment. Installs hardware and software; supervises installations of communications hardware, wiring, and services; identifies and resolves computer and communication issues; processes and tracks workload using the agency incident management tracking system. Tests and monitors software, hardware, and peripheral equipment to evaluate the use, effectiveness, and adequacy of product for the user. Enters commands and observes system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors. Prepares evaluations of software and hardware and submits recommendations to management for review. May take a lead role in the planning, testing, and implementation of major projects under the supervision of management. Reads technical manuals, confers with users, and conducts computer diagnostics to determine the nature of problems and provide technical assistance. Works directly with hardware and software manufacturers to resolve major problems. May develop training materials and procedures and conduct training programs. Prepares administrative and purchasing reports as required. Reports day-to-day activities to supervisor(s) as required. Maintains knowledge of hardware and software by reading trade magazines and technical manuals and attending training seminars. Performs other duties as assigned. The incumbent primarily supports the Division of Habitat and Species staff and is part of the HSC leadership team to maintain clear communication regarding OIT initiatives efforts and objectives while ensuring HSC receives comprehensive IT support. The incumbent will manage HSC licenses and other IT processes in support of the FWC OIT mission as delegated by the Desktop Services section leader. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: + Proficient in networking principles, TCP/IP, OSI model, routing, and switching. + Understanding of network hardware, protocols, and security principles. + Familiarity with wireless networking technologies and emerging trends. + Configuration and management of network devices like routers, switches, and firewalls. + Strong troubleshooting abilities to resolve connectivity and performance issues. + Competency in network monitoring and management tools. + Ability to “punch down” cabling and extend networking and telecommunication services throughout the local area network. + Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders. + Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. + Adaptability to changing technologies and quick learning of new concepts. + Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in team environments. + Ability to remain composed under pressure when resolving critical network issues. + Proactive problem-solving skills to anticipate and mitigate network risks. + Knowledge of the Windows 10/11 and imaging Windows computers; + Knowledge of iPhone IOS and Android operating systems; + Knowledge of Office Productivity Software, Microsoft Office 365; + Knowledge of Microsoft’s Active Directory, Intune, Azure; + Knowledge and skills assisting remote mobile users; + Knowledge and skills with desktop and/or network security; + Knowledge and skills troubleshooting various hardware and software issues; + Knowledge and skills assisting users with data integrity; + Good communication skills.
