Our Values – Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Responsiveness, Excellence (ICARE) Your Specific Responsibilities: This is a professional environmental health position providing technical, advisory, coordinating, and investigative skills, in the Environmental Public Health Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal (OSTDS) program. Conducts site evaluations for OSTDS permits using prescribed policies and procedures, writes OSTDS permits, inspects OSTDS installations and approves installations based on Chapter 64E-6 Florida Administrative Code. Performs routine OSTDS operating permits and service permit inspections. Provides backup to front desk when needed which includes but is not limited to reviewing of septic paperwork received at front counter of for completeness. Data enters file information and inspection reports, maintains records and files of inspections, investigation, test, and reports in an organized and professional manner utilizing the Environmental Health Database (EDH) and other automated programs. Performs travel in conjunction with the above duties; provides technical assistance, counseling, and direct services to clients, attends staff meetings and training, conferences, and certification seminars. Ensures the integrity/confidentiality of all data sets in the program; complies with the information security protocols and procedures (DOHP 50-10); security and privacy of client information is maintained; disclosure of confidential information is released only after proper authorization has been obtained; and information that is exempt from public record disclosure is maintained in a confidential manner. Performs other duties as assigned.
