The incumbent in this position is anticipated to work 26 hours per week;
Monday through Thursday, 09:00 am to 03:00 pm.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include completing anthropometric weighing, measuring, and performing hemoglobin tests for daily certification and re-certification clinics of WIC clients. Provides excellent customer service to clients displaying courtesy and respect while expediting their visit to reduce wait times.
Responsible for weighing and measuring WIC program participants in the main clinic and other clinics if needed.
Performs hemoglobin tests for certification and re-certification clinics daily and for WIC clients needing immediate test results for check issuance according to established standards. Records data results into FL Wise database for certification. Responsible for obtaining weights for high-risk clients needing periodic weight checks and recording information for nutritionists.
Follows policies and procedures for collection, entry and management of data as well as operation of computers according to the WIC manual and DHM 150-24.
Telephones clients to remind them about appointments, to reschedule no-shows or completes administrative tasks as assigned. Cleans laboratory equipment daily. Completes scale calibration as necessary. Assists with inventory of lab supplies and requests for orders in a timely fashion. Dispose of blood contaminated items in special safety disposal containers. Assures Biohazard collection is requested as needed. Notifies supervisor if equipment malfunctions so repairs or replacement of equipment.
Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service training and other staff development activities including but not limited to voter registration, civil rights, mandatory DOH trainings. Completes all forms such as EARS, timesheets, etc. by required deadlines.

Qualifications:
Minimum –
+ High school diploma or GED
Preferred –
+ WIC experience
+ Experience taking heights and weights and conducting routine lab tests
