The effective leadership of the logistics operations within the region. Meeting customer service objectives, meeting the region’s operational and financial goals, and ensuring people and asset productivity targets are met. This position is based in Bethal.
Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring cost effective warehousing and distribution of company products are maintained for the region
Develop, communicate and lead execution of regional plans that support Logistics operations. Plans to reflect: Optimal Transport management, Warehouse and Inventory Management, Financial Management Be the custodian of best practice in the region Champion central led initiatives in the region Ensure that Operational Costs cents per litre is contained through continual investigation and improvement of asset utilization and effective warehouse management
Establish and drive a customer centric culture in the region
Routines and mechanisms employed to ensure that all supporting and outsourced providers are aligned to the customer service imperative and deliver on standard. Develop a regional customer service plan to support Regional and Group account sales and aligned to achieve stated SA Logistics customer service targets. Establish and manage a reporting framework for the region to ensure that Depot execution supports regional customer service plan. Develop and execute plan in conjunction with regional sales and Trade Marketing.
Ensure strict adherence to Corporate Governance
Develop a culture of audit fitness across all levels in the region. Control Measures such as: ICC’s ISO requirements Owner Driver Audits Operations Excellence Cash Handling In conjunction with Regional Risk resource, develop, communicate and monitor Operational risk and mitigation plans for the region Drive initiatives in region to ensure adherence to corporate governance framework
Insights, Factual engagement, Action
Leverage available reporting dashboard and tools to evaluate levels of achievement against Key performance areas. Develop and execute and monitor recovery plans where required
Develop and actively support the curiosity necessary to foster a culture of continuous improvement
Collaboration cross-functionally on business Improvement Projects Support regional initiatives in line with business plan Challenge the status quo at sites to harness the ingenuity of direct reports and regional colleagues to remove non-value adding activities
People leadership, Coaching and capability enhancement
Create an environment that allows for cross functional learning and integration Proactive engagement with key internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve operational goals and objectives Establish team routines that encourage sharing and knowledge transfer. Be an ambassador for SA logistics in the region and externally
Coaching, People development and Training
Align the regional team to act and work towards achievement of the company's strategic imperatives. Coaching culture established and active across the regional depot base. Leaders at all levels. Develop and lead Change management agenda for the region. Promote an open and engaging culture in the region that embraces and lives the company values. Develop a talent pool in the region supported with realistic career and development plans
The successful candidate must have the following qualification, skills and experience:
A relevant tertiary qualification Minimum 5 years experience
