This is an OPS (Other Personal Services) positions and as such no paid time off is offered. Health benefits will be offered for full-time employment. POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a public health nutrition position working as a Public Health Nutritionist in the Florida Department of Health in Broward County. Employee provides nutrition education and support in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). Work is performed under the supervision of the Public Health Nutritionist Supervisor. This position is designated as a sensitive position and is required to maintain information in accordance with state and federal statutes, rules, and regulations, as well as of the Florida Department of Health in Broward County Policies, Protocols, and Procedures. This position has been delegated custodial authority for their Program/Unit's information set(s) and/or secured areas(s). + Provides nutrition assessment, education and counseling to WIC medical high risk, high risk and low risk clients. Develops nutrition care plans. Provides breastfeeding promotion, education and support to WIC clients. Responsible for documenting all client contacts in the WIC FL-WISE Data System. Determines client program eligibility. Work is performed following DHM 150-24 rules and regulations. + Assists in the in-service education for WIC staff. + Acts on behalf of the Public Health Nutrition Supervisor or Senior Public Health Nutritionist during their absence. + Performs anthropometric measurements and hematological testing for WIC clients following DHM 150-24 rules and regulations. + Attends staff meetings, trainings and staff development activities as required. Completes leave, attendance, EARS, travel and any other reports as required and according to established procedures. + Performs other duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + Willing to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural. + Have required registration in accordance with Chapter 468, Florida Statutes, or eligible to practice dietetics in accordance with Chapter 64B8-40 to 45, Florida Administrative Code. + Have a Florida Licensure as a Dietitian/Nutritionist.
