OPS Scientist
Job Description:The Clanton lab at the University of Florida, U.S.A. is seeking a motivated OPS scientist to pursue research related to epigenetic changes associated with heat acclimation. This research combines standard molecular biology, genetic, and biochemical approaches to investigate heat acclimation.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
Duties:
Assist in the design and development of research projects with the lab manager and the Principal Investigator Conduct experiments using a variety of techniques including PCR, ATAC-seq, protein assays, ELISA and cell isolation. Perform experiments with animals Prepare and maintain biological stocks Maintain proper lab and experimental records, both digital and hard copy Prepare scientific results for analysis Work under general supervision with assistance given for unusual problems Expected Salary:$16 per hour
Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant office experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a closely related field and one year of relevant experience; or a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Biology or a closely related field.
Some experience in a laboratory setting.
