Position Responsibilities:
Analyze area requirements and work based on hot lists, customer/production needs, or direction from supervisors or team leaders.
Obtain and utilize drawings, sketches, specifications, and lab procedures for assigned jobs, using online computing systems as necessary.
Visually inspect units under test for discrepancies that could affect accuracy, performing rework and repairs as required.
Set up units under test and perform preliminary adjustments, including zeroing instruments prior to diagnosing items under repair.
Execute repair work based on non-conformance reports from calibration inspections or customer feedback, addressing issues such as broken parts or calibration failures.
Clean delicate surfaces and optical paths using appropriate solvents and materials to remove contaminants.
Perform repair, modification, and calibration on both conventional and computer-aided optical instruments using the necessary tools and instruments.
Verify the accuracy of in-process repairs and completed instruments to ensure they meet required specifications.
Work with mathematical computations (e.g., algebra, geometry, trigonometry) necessary for setup, repair, and calibration of units.
Troubleshoot, test, repair, modify, and install various types of computer/electronic systems used in optical measuring systems.
Operate fabrication equipment to build optical/electrical test fixtures and accessories as required.
Develop methods and procedures for optical measurement processes to be used on items requiring repair/calibration.
Record results and document completed work in compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) requirements and internal documentation standards.
Communicate and coordinate with internal and external customers and support agencies to clarify information and address job-related issues.
Ensure certification of tools and test instruments is current, handle hazardous materials appropriately, and provide onsite and remote technical support and training as required.
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:
Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.
Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.
Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications:
1+ years of experience with optics, lasers, electronics, mechanical or instrumentation.
2+ years of experience with Conventional and Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines.
1+ years of experience in optical equipment assembly and repair.
Typical Education & Experience:
High school graduate or GED preferred.
